Allen is one of the 3 main characters in Age of Oblivion, as well as the first character that you start off with. He is a 16-year-old teenager living in a small town called Mayfield as a "Guardian". A Guardian is someone charged with the task of protecting an important artifact. In his case it is his town's Solar Crystal, a gem said to contain massive energy. Allen's job does not only extend to protecting the crystal, but also involves protecting the town from the threat of monsters, whose numbers have seen a spike in recent years.
Allen shares his title as Guardian of Mayfield with his sister Amy. Usually they will alternate their work days, but if there is too much to do or a job is too difficult to be done alone they will team up. Together they have been able to repel any monster threat that has come to their town.
When Allen was younger he and Amy went off playing together, but an unfortunate incident that nearly resulted in the death of both of them occurred. From that day forward Allen's mother became very overprotective and at first did not approve of him being a Guardian, however she eventually changed her mind. She still does not like the idea of Amy being a Guardian though.
Allen is a hard-working boy, but he does have a tendency to complain when doing things multiple times such as having to check on the Solar Crystal every other day. He desires to leave Mayfield and explore the world, a dream that Amy also has. In Age of Oblivion his dream will become a reality!
